Ms. Virginia Comolli, a Research Analyst from The International Institute of Strategic Studies-London, UK paid a courtesy call on the Leadership of The African Centre for Peace Building in Accra-Ghana on Wednesday, January 19, 2011.

The meeting centered on possibilities of exploring avenues for partnership and collaboration between the tow organizations.

At the meeting, the Executive Director of AFCOPB, Mr. Emmanuel Senyo Kumedzina briefed the visitor on the activities of AFCOPB, successes and challenges. He also pointed out that the major challenge facing perhaps most African NGOs is funding. And was quick to add that the only way this problem can be addressed is when the Leadership of these organizations develop entrepreneural ideas and programmes such as agriculture to generate internal funding other than relying on external donations.

Ms. Virginia Comolli also brifed the leadership of AFCOPB on the activities of the IISS sinces its establishment in 1958. She presented ways in which AFCOPB can benefit from the Intstitute's activities and programmes ranging from reseach fellowhsips, confernces and puplications.

A member of the AFCOPB Advisary Board present at the meeting-Mr. Charles Owusu-Ofori, assured Ms. Comolli that AFCOPB is going to be one of the driving

forces behind the works of the IISS on issues and programmes related to Africa.
